SLC flash or SINGLE LAYER CELL, has both faster read write times and allows for extended temperature range from -40°C to + 85°C.

MLC flash is rated as Standard Temperature range from 0°C to + 70°C. This type of flash is less expensive that SLC flash and is suitable for more commercial and consumer type solutions.

Military grade flash is SLC and is also referred to as rugged or ruggedized flash, with a temperature rating of -40°C to + 85°C. This type if industrial flash is suitable for many military aircraft such has fixed wing and helio on board data systems. Suitable cards such as our PCDATA256MBI, 256MB PCMCIA ATA industrial flash SLC card is designed with an enhanced controller for better compatibility with older now discontinued SiliconSystem cards. Older systems still requiring low capacity cards such as 16MB are still available.
